On Her Majesty´s Secret Service

Titel: On Her Majesty´s Secret Service

Release: 18th December 1969

James Bond: George Lazenby

Plot: George Lazenby steps into the role of James Bond and is sent on his first mission. For help with Draco, he must becomes very close friends with her daughter, Tracy, and heads off to hunt down Ernst Stavro Blofeld one more time. This takes him to Switzerland, where he must pose as Sir Hilary Bray to find out the secret plan of Blofeld. The facility is covered with Blofeld's guards and well as his hench-woman, Irma Bunt. What has Blofeld got in mind this time? Bond keep up this act for much longer? And are ALL Bond girls safe?

Personal Thoughts: I love OHMSS! It´s a great movie, but it would have been even greater if it had Connery in it… I mean, Lazenby is just so wooden as 007. But otherwise it´s a great movie. I absolutely love Diana Rigg as Tracy Di Vicenzo and Telly Savalas id descent as Blofeld. I suppose that no one will ever be as good as Pleasence was as Blofeld. The story is a bit different from the other ones, but I like that. I like the whole “Angels Of Death”-plan, and I also think that Piz-Gloria is an excellent hideout-place for Blofeld. The only hench-person we have in this one is Ilse Steppat as Irma Bunt and she´s just so freaky! Bond´s male alie in OHMSS is just wonderful. I love Draco! He´s just so badass! The final battle on Piz-Gloria look´s really good and I love that they are using the original Bond-theme during the fight. I also like the bit in the end of the movie when Bond tosses his hat to Money-Penny. Of course Tracy dies and it´s a very touching moment. It´s when Tracy dies that George Lazenby gives his best preformens actually. It´s a great Bond-film!

You Only Live Twice

Titel: You Only Live Twice

Release Date: 13th June 1967

James Bond: Sean Connery

Plot: When an American space capsule is swallowed up by what they believe to be a Russian spaceship, World War 3 nearly breaks out. The British Government, however, suspect that other powers are at work as the space craft went down near Japan. S.P.E.C.T.R.E is the force behind the theft, as James Bond discovers, but its motives are far from clear, and he must first find out where the captured space capsule is held before America and Russia initiate another world war.

Personal Thoughts: I really like You Only Live Twice! The villain is great, the girls are beautiful and the action is fantastic! The only downside is Connery actually. I mean, he look´s bored through the whole movie! But except for that, it´s a really good film! I just love the chopper-scene and absolutely adore Charles Gray as Henderson! Donald Pleasence is my favorite Blofeld of them all. He´s just so scary! Both Kissy and Aki are both really beautiful Bond-girls and I love them! The action is excellent and so are the stunts! Helga Brandt is just smoking hot! She´s probably my favorite hench-women of them all. As I said, it´s a shame that Connery look´s so bored but I do understand him actually. The press was with him 24/7! The ending is just wonderful and I love the hollowed-out volcano! It´s a good film!

Thunderball

Titel: Thunderball

Release Date: 29th December 1965

James Bond: Sean Connery

Plot: James Bond continues on his fourth mission, with his aim to recover two stolen warheads. They have been taken by the evil SPECTRE organisation. The world is held hostage and Bond heads to Nassau. Here, he meets the beautiful Domino and is forced into a thrilling confrontation with SPECTRE agent Emilio Largo, on board his boat, the Disco Volante. Will 007 prevent the killing of millions of innocent victims?

Personal Thoughts: Well, there is a lot of underwater-stuff going on so the movie is kind of slow actually. Connery is excellent and so is Adolfo Celi, but the movie is still pretty boring. The action scenes on land is great and Claudine Auder as Domino is stunning, though she is kind of bland from time to time. Probably 40 minutes of the movie is under water and I do not like that. I think it´s a shame that they wasted that much time on showing the audience action scenes in slow motion, cause that´s what it feels like. It feels like every single under water scenes, has been slowed down to slow motion, and that´s not what Bond-fans want. At least I don´t want that. But as I said, Connery is great in the part of Bond, Largo is an effective villain and Domino is hot as hell. The hench-persons in this movie are pretty much crap… Except for Fiona Volpe! Fiona Volpe played by Luciana Paluzzi puts up an excellent performance but I do not think that she´s as good looking as everybody says. But as for the other hench-persons, they are pretty much crap, like Vargas. It´s an okay film, and would recommend you to watch it if you like Connery´s portrayal as Bond and if you like beautiful women!

Goldfinger

Titel: Goldfinger

Release Date: 17th September 1964

James Bond: Sean Connery

Plot: Bond is back and his next mission takes him to Fort Knox, where Auric Goldfinger and his henchman are planning to raid Fort Knox and obliterate the world economy. To save the world once again, Bond will need to become friends with Goldfinger, dodge killer hats and avoid Goldfinger's personal pilot, the sexy Pussy Galore. She might not have feelings for Bond, but will 007 help her change her mind?

Personal Thoughts: Goldfinger is probably the most watched Bond-film of them all. It´s surely a great movie and a lot of people thinks that this is the best! I respectfully disagree with that opinion. It might be the ultimate Bond, but I don´t think that it is so special. Sure, the villain is pretty good, or at least the character is good, but I don´t like Gert Fröbe at all. He looks like a pig! Honor Blackman is a good actress but she really isn´t as beautiful as everybody claims… I´m not saying that she is ugly, but she´s not hot either. Tatiana Romanova look´s way better. The three best things in Goldfinger is probably Oddjob, The Aston Martin DB5 and the way Connery portrays Bond. Sean Connery IS James Bond 007 I this one. Every single move he makes just screams Bond! Oddjob is the most famous Bond-henchmen without a doubt. And I just love the way he smiles when Bond tries to throw the hat back at him but misses. The Aston Martin is just badass! Who doesn´t want a car with machineguns and a bulletproof shield?!?! All in all Goldfinger is a pretty good film but it does feel kind of vanilla. I´m probably the only Bond-fan in the world that thinks that Goldfinger is vanilla…
